United for Solutions is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that focuses on connecting individuals, companies and groups who share a common goal in finding solutions to help and improve communities. UFS produces and distributes educational television programming and documentaries which inform and inspire the community to take action on social issues. Our short term goals are to develop the necessary infrastructure and financial support for implementing after school programs. And then provide a self-sustaining, working environment for youths, that offer our youth skills and on the job training. Our long term goal is to partner with companies that can fund our training efforts and provide locations for training facilities.
United for Solutions was founded by Neita Lambert and Lou Lambert partners in Lambert Media Team, LLC an advertising agency and media production company. Over the years Lou & Neita, as well as, LMT’s staff have worked very closely with organizations like Project Safe Neighborhoods, Weed & Seed, the US Virgin Islands Anti-Gang committee, The Rwanda Project USVI and the St. Thomas/St. John Hotel & Tourism Association. LMT having produced non-profit events and programs directed at school age children and young adults with favorable results, felt it was only a natural progression to continue this type of grant and pro-bono work through United for Solutions.
The US Virgin Islands is one of the most popular and beautiful destinations in the Caribbean. Yet, it is not without problems. Households where children are raised primarily by a single parent, usually the female, now exceed 65% of all family households. The cost of living in paradise is far higher than anywhere in the US on average 35% higher. The average annual income is averages $27 to $28,000.00 per year. And the homicide rate among teenagers and young adults is at an unacceptable level. The need for business, education, faith-based organizations and the citizens of our community to unite for solutions is greater than ever. There is much to be done and there is much we can do.
